AS things stand - the area's where BCFC need to improve with regards to fans / supporters is by doing the right thing i.e listening and acting on complaints - i.e better quality of service on matchdays (refreshments, tickets office, Blues shop etc etc), showing that wwhen the going gets tough that we are all together i.e laying on free tickets and coaches for the odd away game ala west brom (i think), better communication etc etc
Servicing the fans needs in this way would promote much harmony across the board

agreed - i dont think they've got it sorted perfectly yet by any means, but we're heading in the right corporate direction i think. as far as i know albion are the ONLY club that have laid on free coaches so the comparison is a tad unfair - but some nice touches are required imo ;)

ps - edited to say, you'll never get harmony across the board, we cant get harmony on the forums let alone between 29000 fans :o

you could if you gave each fan a happy injection as they came through the turnstile - one that made them sing and be positive whatever the score
I think they do this at portsmouth

I really dont think that the fans views on our Board are really too far apart.

Everone appreciates that they rescued the club from potential oblivion, and have made us secure for our future. They deserve our gratitude for that.

Abramovich has a ten year plan for Chelski - to make them self sufficient. Well we are ten-years ahead of them in that respect, because we are now self sufficient. That should be applauded too.

However, many fans are uncomfortable that the Board dont get the business/club balance right. Any business is designed to generate cash for it's owners and directors, whereas a club is there to serve the needs and desires of it's supporters.

At the moment the emphasis on cash generation appears to serve the fans poorly. I couldn't care less about the season ticket price rises (although I appreciate that others are affected by them), sponsored bookings and the seemingly never-ending and absurdly innovative cash raising ventures, providing a corresponding amount is spent on players. At the moment that doesn't happen.

My gripe is that this Board have a habit of trying to work the old smoke and mirrors illussion, with leaked tales of £6m bids for players that may never have occurred, and stories of £10m players arriving (including every perceiveable add-on that anyone could imagine) that push the boundaries of credibility to the limit.

I strongly support the Board. But if they try to pull the wool over my eyes I will politely tell them that they have been rumbled. I do so not to rile them, but in the hope that in the future the balance may be tipped back in favour of the club, and it's supporters by providing them with success on the pitch. Isn't that what we all want?

The club should be run for the fans. At the moment it is being run to maximise revenue; the fans are a secondary consideration.

just explain how that would work please? if what you mean is cheaper seats/tickets then if you're happy with being outside the prem fair enough. to compete at anything, you have to generate cash or risk getting left too far behind. dont get me wrong, i dont like stuping up nearly £500 for my st, but its the economics of the division we're in imo

It's about putting fans first.

Example : catering

What kind of catering would Blues fans like at St.Andrews & how we can deliver that ?

I don't see any evidence that the question has ever been considered by BCFC. We get the catering that delivers revenue for minimal effort.

Example : merchandising

What kind of merchandise would Blues fans like ?

Ditto. The shop is stocked with over-priced tat. Even the shirt is cr@p quality.

Those are two examples, but it runs through just about everything that the club does on the commercial side.
